Refunds from your health insurance
For some treatments, such as dialysis, chemotherapy or radiotherapy, Belgian health insurance funds (ziekenfondsen) contribute to travel costs. The conditions differ per fund.
Ask the driver for a receipt after each ride. You need it for your claim.
Hospital taxi questions
Is this an ambulance service?
No. We provide seated transport for people who can sit on their own or with a little help. In an emergency, always call 112.
Does the driver help with getting in and out?
Yes. The driver helps you in and out of the car and, if you wish, to the hospital entrance.
Can someone come with me?
Yes. Mention when you book that a family member or carer is riding along.
Can you pick me up again afterwards?
Yes. Call or send a message when you are done, or agree on a time in advance. For long or unpredictable treatments we call you first.
